Meet Mary Christina Rumple

Bill and Karen's Daughter
Director of Mission House Operations

My name is Mary Rumple and I'm 27 years old and I am Bill and Karen's daughter. Since before I was born my parents have been Christians and involved in the church. They taught me and my brothers that without the Lord we have nothing. We always went to church - sincerely, I don't remember a Sunday that we didn't. When I was 12 years old, the youth pastor at our church and his wife spoke into my life by asking me to write down what I believed God was calling me to do. I remember this like it was yesterday. As soon as I got home,  I got a piece of paper and a pen and went to my room to start writing what I felt God called me to be. I wrote that God put on my heart that I was going to be a missionary.  When my father announced to my brothers and I a few weeks later that we were called to the Dominican Republic, I was so excited.  My parents didn't even know what I had done through the youth group.   The Sunday they announced that our family was going to the Dominican Republic to serve as full time missionaries, my youth pastor's wife showed my mother what I had written. Six months later my family and I packed our bags and we left for the town of Barahona, Dominican Republic. I have been through many ups and downs...but the Lord has His hand on my life and I'm so thankful for the amazing guidance I recieved as a child from both parents. They taught me to love everyone, it doesn't matter race or color, to help the poor as much as possible and last but not least to rely on the Lord in everything I do.  Mary Rumple
