Miguel "Ramon" Ramirez
Assistant Director - Widow Program
My name is Miguel Antonio Ferreras Ramirez. I am 24 years old, I have been working with Grace and Peace Missionary Fellowship for 3 years. I am an English Major student at the Universidad (UASD) in Barahona. I grew up in a poor family, but rich in values and integrity. I thank God for my family, They are one of the most important things in life. My parents are Jose and Margot. I have one brother, Ricardo. We call him Miguelito. My sister's name is Yohanna. My family also is my inspiration to continue improving myself because they support me in achieving my goals. At the age of 11, I had to work and study at the same time. I used to work in the morning at the market carrying heavy sacks for people. They paid me very little but it's what I had to do to survive. At 14 years of age, I started work in the market unloading vegetables at 4:00 in the morning. From there I took a class to fix refrigerators and air conditioners. I was able to stop working in the market because it was time to work harder on my studies. Finally, I took an English class for 9 months, because I have a passion for languages. In 2011, I met the Rumple family, Miss Karen Rumple and Mr Bill Rumple through Keila, who is my co-worker. They are a Christian family and very good people who care about me and they have talked to me a lot about God. I haven’t taken the step of Faith to receive the Lord, but I know I will have the opportunity to receive Him. The Rumples are people that I have learned so much from and I still have so much more to learn from them. I want to be a Teacher or a Translator, but my dream job is to be a Translator. Where there is a will there is a way.
