April 2026: GP Banquet, a Medical Team, and Morales's Story
A new vehicle, on hold
2026 began with a beautiful banquet we hosted on January 9, 2026, at Aulizio's Banquet Center. That evening, we were able to raise enough funds to purchase a new vehicle for the ministry. Our current vehicles are 27, 26, and 18 years old, so this was an exciting step forward.
After finding the right vehicle, we prepared to wire the funds from the United States. Unfortunately, just at that time, the exchange rate dropped by four points. Proceeding would have resulted in a loss of nearly $4,000, so we made the decision to place the purchase on hold while we wait for the dollar to strengthen. In the meantime, we are doing just fine—continuing to patch and maintain our trusty fleet, trusting the Lord's timing, and moving forward with gratitude for His provision.
Medical clinics and house maintenance
In March, we welcomed Brown Horse Projects Medical Team from Canfield, Ohio.
The BHP team partnered with us to provide medical clinics in several areas of our town. In just one week, more than 200 people received free medical checkups along with much-needed medicines. We are deeply grateful for their compassion and service.
Later in March, we began house maintenance for families of children in our programs. We poured three cement floors, added a room extension, repaired a roof and installed a new bathroom. Through practical help and intentional outreach, God opened doors for ministry in each community we served, and we are thankful for every opportunity to be His hands and feet.
In April, we have been busy caring for widows through much-needed house maintenance. It has already been a very full year of ministry. While much of our work has involved construction, the Gospel remains central in everything we do. As we serve, we are intentional about sharing the hope of Christ with those around us.
Morales's story
As you read on, we invite you to enjoy an amazing, life-transforming story from a gentleman we had the privilege to minister to as we poured a cement floor in his home where he lives with his wife and grandson, who is in our Children's Program.
This is Morales Luciano Feliz. On the left is our general contractor, Pastor Saulo, or our Maestro as he is referred to there. On the right is Keila.
Morales is 64 years old. He had known about the Lord for many years. Morales tried to walk with the Lord but his friends pressured him to come back into the world and drink with them. He did attend church for a short time back then—about three months—but that was the extent of his involvement.
Fast forward to today. Because he walked in the world for so long, he just didn't know how to get back to where he wanted to be. As we talked with him, he said he knew it was time to step forward to become a true Christ follower.
The week we were working in his neighborhood, Keila sent us a photo of his house along with the beds they were sleeping on. We told her to put them on the list to get a cement floor poured, not really knowing what all the Lord would be doing in that area. The Lord knew.
Morales continued telling us that he had a stroke 2 years ago and has been thinking about how to walk with the Lord since then. As we shared, he was very ready to say yes. Our Maestro, stopped his work, came over and ministered to Morales as Keila prayed over him and he dedicated his life to become a Christ Follower.
We finished the cement floor and we will be buying them new beds, a cooktop stove and a fan this week. They are now on the list for a new zinc home.
We are working on a follow-up plan with Morales to ensure he is discipled in his new faith.
